I’m smiling because I just found out there is a Walmart and Sonic Drive-In in Pahrump. Yeah, I thought there was no way I’d find either of those businesses in small/remote place like Pahrump. Anyone have first hand knowledge, if the carhops at the Sonic wear roller skates? I heard they are optional at each location within the chain.

August 31, 2014 at 2:17 pm #10384Charina LeeParticipantI did have a server come out on roller skates, but only one time…so it appears to be an option. As Firefighter has stated, there are many places to find what you need. And also some very scenic roads to travel if you love the surrounding landscape.

September 1, 2014 at 11:03 am #10401AnonymousInactiveTo have a less remote of a drive, I was thinking about going into Las Vegas Area before heading up to Pahrump. Unlimited mileage on rental car and lower gas prices allow for a longer drive. Thanks for the personal views on this topic.
September 1, 2014 at 3:10 pm #10411FlintParticipantLess traveling starting from Vegas. Fair amounts of traffic until you get close to the first mountain ridge
September 1, 2014 at 7:35 pm #10414AllissaParticipantThere’s a Family Dollar down the street for last minute items. I love going to the Pahrump Valley Winery for a bottle of wine or food. I thought it was funny to see a Walmart in our town as well. Of course there is more options in Vegas but the Littl3 Pahrump does offer adds to the experience!
September 4, 2014 at 10:20 pm #10551Willie AParticipantAny info on the rv park or others around the area.
September 5, 2014 at 3:49 am #10552AnonymousInactiveThere are two RV Parks close by…
Lakeside RV Park (159 sites Good Sam 10-10-10 Star Rating) and Casino is located at 5870 Homestead Road and Sheri’s Ranch is 4 miles south at 10551 Homestead Road. http://www.lakesidecasinopahrump.com/rvpark
Also, Saddle West RV Park (80 spaces), Motel and Casino is located at 1220 S. HWY160 which is 9 miles northwest from Sheri’s Ranch. http://www.saddlewest.com/rv-park/
September 5, 2014 at 9:30 am #10553Willie AParticipantThanks Firefighter just gives me another option.
September 8, 2014 at 12:54 pm #10578AnonymousInactiveDo crazy weather events like flash flooding occur around Pahrump? I’ve seen images of Las Vegas being hit by flash floods over the years and just yesterday the storm impacting the Southwest caused flash flooding in Riverside, California.
September 8, 2014 at 1:56 pm #10581YB_GoodeParticipantI’m sure flash floods happen once in a great while, the same as they do in most flat, dry desert areas. If you aren’t camping in a wash or dry creek bed, I’m sure you’ll be fine.
It’s very similar to Vegas, climate-wise. From my experience, it ranges from Clear Skies, Dry and Hot (Summer), to Clear Skies, Dry and Cold (Winter) 🙂
